Sean McDaniel, the son of a Marine Corps captain, was born April 27, 1966 in Durango, Colorado. He grew up on the plains of southeastern New Mexico and now resides in Billings, Montana. Early in life, Sean developed a passion for weightlifting and pursued his dream. He founded Plaza Fitness Health Club at the age of twenty-five. Plaza Fitness is still going strong two decades later.

Despite his success in the fitness world, Sean embraces a "what's next?" philosophy. For him, it's writing. The Criminal Zoo: Memoirs of an Exhibit is the third novel of five he has completed. Sean also spent several years as a contributing editor for MuscleMag International, a Toronto-based magazine distributed throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.

Sean enjoys the blessings of two sets of parents, two brothers and four sisters, four children, his wife Tiki, and two boxer dogs. Sometimes he wonders if the boxers are really a blessing.
